Egypt Strongly Condemns Vienna Terrorist Attack

Egyptian Foreign Ministry expressed its strong condemnation of the terrorist incident hit the heart of Vienna, leaving a number of Austrian citizens dead and injured on Monday.

Egypt also offered its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and expressed its wishes of a speedy recovery for the injured, stressing that the Egyptian government and people support the government and people of Austria in this brutal incident.

Moreover, Egypt has renewed its categorical rejection to all forms of violence, extremism and terrorist crimes, and stressed the necessity of concerting and intensifying international efforts in order to confront terrorism in all its manifestation

On Monday evening, multiple gunmen with automatic weapons opened fire at multiple locations across central Vienna, killing at least 4 people and wounding several more.

Austrian police units have arrested 4 participants in the terrorist-classified attack that hit the heart of Vienna.

Austrian authorities announced that the attack took place in 6 different locations near the largest synagogue in the city, while the police confirmed that there are deaths and injuries in several shooting incidents, but their number has not yet been confirmed yet.

Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz described the attack as a “repulsive terror attack”, declaring the deployment of army forces in Vienna to help the police.
