Egypt Signs Agreement with Islamic Bank to Push Exports to $100 Billion

Hala Al-Saeed, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, and Governor of Egypt at the Islamic Development Bank Group said that the agreement signed between the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Arab-African Trade Bridges Program to expand Egyptian exports aims to support Egypt's goal related to raising the total level of exports to $100 billion over a period of time.

Al Saeed added that the next five years will witness more developments in Egypt's exports in light of the country's sustainable development plan.

She stressed that the agreement comes within the framework of a distinguished history of cooperation between Egypt and the Jusoor Program sponsored by the Islamic Bank.

The minister confirmed, in a press statement Friday, that the annual meetings of the Islamic Development Bank group this year are witnessing intense and unprecedented participation, to come as an important occasion to strengthen cooperation, launch investment partnerships between member countries of the Islamic Bank and Egyptian institutions, and maximize the benefit from the mechanisms provided by the Bank Group.
