Egypt Sends Urgent Medical Aid to Djibouti (Video)

Within the framework of implementing the directives of Egypt President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to provide aid to all sisterly Arab and African countries, a military cargo aircraft carrying medical aid to Djibouti took off on Sunday.

General Commander of the Armed Forces Minister of Defense and Military Production Mohamed Zaki ordered the aircraft to fly to Djibouti carrying urgent medical aid on board to be delivered to the people of the African country to help them confront the disastrous impact of the recent wave of floods and torrential rainfall.

This comes in continuation of Egypt’s efforts to promote its pivotal role in helping friendly and sisterly countries.

In November, El-Sisi held a phone conversation with his Djiboutian counterpart Ismaïl Omar Guelleh.

During the call, Sisi expressed Egypt’s solidarity with Djibouti in the face of devastating consequences of the recent torrential rains and floods witnessed by the country, affirming Egypt’s readiness to support the Djiboutian people and government by providing them with needed humanitarian aid and medical relief.

The president pointed out to Egypt’s pride in the historical and brotherly relations between the two countries, which are reflected in the concordance of positions and views over many files on the Arab, African and international arenas.

The president also confirmed Egypt’s keenness to continue fostering commercial and investment relations between the two countries, especially, in addition to its role in achieving the objectives of economic development, security, and stability in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea regions.

On his part, the Djiboutian President lauded the continuous development in the course of bilateral relations between Egypt and Djibouti, expressing his deep appreciation to Egypt, which always show fraternal solidarity with the Djiboutian people in their ordeals.

He pointed out to Egypt’s continued keenness to develop mutual relations and push forward the frameworks of joint cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

Guelleh also confirmed that Egypt’s current presidency of the African Union (AU) and the clear policies and views adopted by President Sisi have benefited the all African continent and helped in promoting the efforts of the joint African action and achieving the development objectives in the Black continent.
