On Monday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 799 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 369,997.

The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 21,104 nationwide after the ministry announced 44 deaths.

About 1321 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 307,926.

Egypt has vaccinated about 47 million citizens against the deadly virus.

On November 14, the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) announced the start of clinical trials for CoviVacc, the country’s first coronavirus vaccine.

The authority confirmed that the vaccine is a fruitful outcome of cooperation between the National Research Center and Vaccine Valley Company.
