On Tuesday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 1322 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 485,093.
The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 24,110 nationwide after the ministry announced 36 deaths.
About 2008 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 415,490.
The recent spike in infections comes as Egypt continues to push ahead with efforts to expand its vaccination campaign to vaccinate 70% of the population by the second half of 2022.
