On Tuesday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 889 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 364,922.

The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 20,821 nationwide after the ministry announced 51 deaths.

About 1109 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 303,368.

Egypt has vaccinated about 40 million citizens against the deadly virus.

The Ministry announced in a statement in early November that a total of 41,939,792 coronavirus doses have been administered in Egypt so far.

The total number of those who received the first dose of vaccine amounted to 27,485,140, and 14,454,652 for the second dose.

Furthermore, the government imposed a ban on unvaccinated employees from entering their workplaces at all government facilities and on unvaccinated university students from entering universities as of November 15, as well as banning unvaccinated citizens from entering any government facilities as of December 1.

The government announced that all university students will be required to be vaccinated to attend exams at the end of the first semester.
