Egypt Receives 2.315 Million Doses of COVID-19 Vaccines (Photos)

Egypt received 2,315,910 doses of coronavirus vaccines, on Sunday, at Cairo International Airport, Acting Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar announced. 

The shipment was provided through COVID-19 Vaccines Global Access (COVAX) in cooperation with the Vaccine Alliance (Gavi) as part of the Egyptian state’s efforts to persify and expand the use of vaccines.

It includes 1,501,110 doses of Pfizer vaccine, 462,000 doses of Moderna vaccine, in addition to 352,800 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine.

 

It is worth mentioning that Egypt has managed so far to vaccinate around 50 million people against the Coronavirus, according to health officials.

 

Egypt’s vaccination campaign started in January using various types of imported and locally made vaccines and vaccinating millions of citizens.
