Egypt expressed its sincere condolences to Algeria and the families of the victims of forest fires across several Algerian states, resulting in several deaths and injuries.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry affirmed Egypt’s full support for Algeria during this painful incident, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.
It is worth mentioing that, at least 26 people were killed as a result of the forest fires in the states of El Tarf and Setif, Algerian media confirmed on Wednesday.
The Algerian People’s National Army command sent Air Force helicopters to participate in the firefighting operations as the fires broke out in the forests of the eastern provinces.
On Wednesday evening, the Algerian state of Souk Ahras announced the temporary evacuation of 350 families from their homes due to the fires in the state.
