Egypt lose to Uruguay in a respectable effort

A monumental defense effort implemented by the Egyptian national team proved to be quite efficient, after 86 minutes of holding off the Uruguayan attacking front of Luis Suarez and Edison Cavani, The Egyptian national team seemed to be heading towards a draw in their toughest match in the group stage until /jose Maria Jiminez snatched a quick header.

The Egyptian side implemented a great defensive strategy, that saw Ali Gabr and Ahmed Hegazy successfully holding off the Suarez and Edison Cavani, with Ahmed Fathi and Mahmoud Abdelshafy holding off the wings. Egypt had a great opportunity later on in the match to score through an oddly displaced shot from Mohamed El Nenny inside the box. Goal keeper Ahmed El-Shennawy saved a fearsome strong shot from Edison Cavani.

The National team will have to compensate in their upcoming matches against Russia and Saudi Arabia in order to land a place in 16 stage. Mohamed Salah is scheduled to return next match which could see great changes in the Egyptian formation which will hopefully prove efficient.
