Egypt Imported “Non-Cash Gold” Worth $813 Mln in 2021

Data from released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS ) revealed an increase in Egypt’s imports of non-monetary gold during 2021; where the total value amounted to about $831,307 million, while it was $149,547 million in 2020, an increase of 681 million and 760 thousand dollars.

Data from the CAPMAS indicate that imports of non-cash gold witnessed successive increases in 2021, as the value of imports last April amounted to about $80.6 million, while it was $4.1 million in April 2020, an increase of about $76.5 million which means an increase of 1887%.

Last December, the Egyptian imports of non-cash gold made a big jump, and the value of imports amounted to about $114.6 million, while it was $9.6 million in December 2020, that means an increase of about $105 million dollars, an increase of 1093.2%.
