It is known throughout human history that secrecy and monopoly envelop  gold and jewelry industries.

Adroit craftsmen are keen to prevent other people from joining those industries.

Egypt houses more than 3 thousand gold workshops which come under strict security measures.

Only few people could enter into those workshops.

It is worth mentioning that Egypt exports 45 tons of gold every year, 30 tons  are bought from people to be re-melted and re-exported later.

Egyptian workers are rare in this field

Clever craftsmen

Meanwhile, Al Sukkry gold mine, in the deep of the Red Sea range of mountains,  harvests some 15 tons of ore gold every year.

Rarity of clever craftsmen is a serious problem faces owners of gold workshops so they head  to import trained workers from another countries like India.

Egypt Gold Group (EGG)  has suggested  establishing two vocational schools in both Cairo and Mansoura, in the southern part of the Delta.

Egypt Gold School is going to bring out young craftsmen; the school is the first of its kind across the country.

Curricula of those schools were adopted according to scientific rules to develop gold industry to go with the standing circumstances, economic position and trends in Egypt.

A new trained generation of gold craftsmen are able significantly to serve the local and foreign markets.

The new schools seek to prepare gold and jewelry craftsmen to export labor to the other countries later.

It will admit more girls and lesser number of boys. Every school will house 100 apprentices.

Egypt manufactures 3 million tons of gold annually

Egypt Gold School for Applied Technologies situates at  El Abour district in the north of Cairo. It opens its doors to apprentices of the preparatory schools.

The Ministry of Education and Vocational Education has signed a protocol with Egypt Gold Group to launch another school in Mansoura.

Advanced machinery

Jewelers say the two schools will bring out  a new generation of young craftsmen graduates with fresh experience to forge modern products of gold and jewels instead of the old form that weigh heavily.

It is worth to mention that gold industry sees more  developments in using sophisticated tools such ones depending on Laser.

Students will be trained to use advanced machinery. They will be trained for three years like similar to vocational schools.  In the end of training, they would obtain diploma of craftsmanship of gold and   jewelry.

New schools of training of gold craftsmen of gold mirror  importance of technical and vocation education from school to university.
