Cairo, SEP 9 (SEE) –Minister of Petroleum Tarek El-Molla announced on Saturday that Egypt natural gas output risen to 6.6 billion cubic feet per day after an increase in production at its giant Zohr.

The total gas in place in the field is estimated to be around 850 billion cubic metres, Zohr could almost double Egypt gas reserves.

Egypt seeks to speed up production from recently discovered fields, including Zohr, with the aim of ending gas imports by 2019 and achieving self sufficiency of natural gas.
