Professor Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El Din, Presidential Adviser for Prevention Affairs, said that the isolation period is now 28 days, not 14 days for those coming abroad. The decision was taken due to the spread and development of it outside Egypt in order to ensure that the infection is not spread by anyone coming abroad. The decision makers decided to lengthen isolation days to 28 because every person who carries the virus transmits the infection to three others. Hence, the isolation period was doubled as a precaution to limit its spread.

Dr. Taj El-Din attributed the reasons for the spread of the Corona virus in Europe and America, unlike in Africa, because the latter continent are closed to some extent, and the inbound tourism movement is not great. There are also countries whose people have strong immunity, which can fight the virus.

The presidential advisor noted that Egypt is controlling the virus so far according to rules and foundations, but the upcoming period is a period of intense anticipation of the virus evolution.

The same situation happened in Italy and Spain, and some have turned into epidemiological hotspots and the largest hot spot now is America.“We are in a world war, not a local one against this virus and the state takes necessary measures to control it,” he said. He added, “Everyone must join forces with the state for the sake of their own benefit, families and their community at large until we cross overcome crisis.”
