The Egyptian government denied reports about imposing EGP 10,000 on those who will refuse to take the COVID-19 vaccine, according to Sputnik news agency.

The Ministry of Health (MoH) has refuted these 'baseless' rumors, according to Egypt's cabinet media center.

Moreover, the ministry also stressed that receiving the vaccine is 'optional' for all citizens, noting that no inpidual or group can be forced to get vaccinated.

The ministry also called on all media outlets and social media users to adhere to accuracy and contact the concerned official sources of information to avoid circulating any fake news.
