In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Arab Republic of Egypt condemned, in the strongest terms, the brutal attack carried out by the Houthi group, by drone, on Qena commercial port in southern Yemen on Thursday morning.

Egypt once again held the Houthi group responsible for the current escalation and obstructing  the truce in Yemen, stressing that this group must abandon its obstinate positions and immediately respond to international and regional efforts to extend the truce, in a way that paves the way for a permanent ceasefire and for the political settlement efforts to alleviating the suffering of the brotherly Yemeni people.

The statement also stressed Egypt's firm support for Yemen's unity and sovereignty over its territory, expressing its full solidarity with Yemen  in confronting all threats.
