Egypt Announces Saturday as 1st of Ramadan

The Egyptian Dar Al-Iftaa observed the Ramadan crescent a few minutes ago, which is known as “Yawm Al Roo’yah” (The Day of Observing the New Crescent). And, it announced that tomorrow will mark the first day of Ramadan as the crescent of the holy month appeared after the sunset.

According to the institute, the Ramadan crescent appeared at 8:25 am on Friday. It was spotted in Mecca and Cairo for 17 minutes after sunset.

Regarding the rest of the Muslim countries, the crescent was spotted between 10 and 25 minutes after the sunset.

In the same context, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Ethiopia, Palestine, Lebanon, Sudan, and Iraq announced that tomorrow will mark the first day of Ramadan as well.

Only two Arabic countries announced that the crescent moon wasn't observed after today's sunset, declaring that Sunday is Ramadan's first day.

These countries are Jordan and Oman.
