EGX Main Index Climbs 1.71%, Market Cap Gains EGP 23.38 Billion

The benchmark EGX 30 index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange rose at the end of today's trading by 1.71% to close at 10620 points, above the barrier of 10600 points.

The broader EGX 70 EWI index of leading SMEs rose 2.23% to end the session at 1958 points, while the all-embracing EGX 100 index with equal weights rose by 2.11% at 2887 points.

The EGX50 index also increased by 2.32% to close at 2016 points.

The market cap rose during today's session by EGP 23.38 billion to close at EGP 652.159 billion.

Arab and foreign investors showed their enthusiasm for the stock market, which prompted them to buy shares with a net value of EGP 12.1 million and EGP 90.7 million, respectively, while the Egyptians were looking to reap profits, which prompted them to sell shares worth EGP 102.8 million.

The value of trading on the listed shares reached EGP 1.08 billion, with a turnover of 547.5 million shares, through 39.68 thousand transactions.
