Education Min. Meets Med Students before Leaving for Japan

Dr. Khalid Abdel Ghafar, the Minister of Higher Education met with the excelling medical students from different Egyptian universities before their departure to Japan for their training in the University of Tokyo and the University of Hiroshima.

The training programs come as part of the cooperation protocol between the ministry, the National Bank of Egypt and Banque Misr to provide scholarships in order to improve the human capacity and thus, achieve the development plans.

The minister started by congratulating the students for passing the standardized cognitive exam explaining that the questions were chosen according to international standards and that 3400 students from 21 different universities took the exam.

The minister visited the hospitals where the students will be training and confirmed that both the University of Tokyo and the University of Hiroshima’s hospitals are the best place for the students to receive proper practical and theoretical training.

The Armed Forces medical students presented their experience in training at the European Oncology Institute in Milano pointing to their practical and beneficial training in Leukemia Tumors.

The President Abdel Fattah El Sisi contacted the leading medical countries to provide scholarships to the excelling students in the standardized cognitive exam.

77 students were granted the scholarships including 4 armed forces students who had already trained in Italy from the 14th till the 28th of December, 2019. 73 students from different universities will be training from January 31st till February the 15th, 2020.

The 73 students were pided into two groups; the first group comprises of 38 students from Aswan, Asyut, Alexandria, ElZagazig, ElFayoum, Cairo, ElMansoura, ElMenoufia and Banha. The second group comprises of 35 students from ElMenia, Bani Sweif, Port Said, Sohag, Tanta, South of the Valley, Suez Canal, Kafr ElSheikh and Ain Shams.

The National Bank of Egypt and Banque Misr are paying the expenses of the scholarships according to the ministry’s plan with a total of 300 million pounds paid over three years.
