Mentality Development.. Core Concern at “Education in Egypt”

CAIRO, MAR.2 (SEE) - The preparatory and last session preceding the conference «Education in Egypt», that is being held today, is discussing the challenges that face the national project for the education’s development. The session is also discussing how to develop the Egyptian mentality to reform education.

Akhbar Al Youm Foundation is hosting the event attended by the Minister of Education Tarek Shawki, Cairo University’s president Mohamed Osamn El Khosht, and Akhbar Al Youm’s Chairman Yasser Rezk.

In addition, remarkable figures in the educational field and at Cairo University, experts, students, parents are attending the event.

Developing the Egyptian mentality, the challenges that face applying the new educational system, merging the Egyptian Knowledge Bank with the educational process are the pillars that the session is focusing on.

Regarding the conference’s proceedings, it is scheduled to start on Monday with the presence of Shawki and the Minister of High Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Ghaffar.

In this regard, El Khosht expressed, “The conference is investing the success it achieved the last year. It revives Mostafa Aly Amin’s historical message, especially that education in Egypt needs continuous development. In this regard, Cairo University’s is facing the economic, cultural, and educational challenges.”

EL Khosht added, “The conference’s second edition is very important, as the conference entered a new phase that works on merging the Egyptian mentality with the education that will not move forward under the old dominant culture.

“We should work at the same time on all tracks: reforming education, developing the Egyptian mentality, and building a new religious discourse. Simultaneously, the conference plays an important role in linking developing education, technology, and Egypt’s industrial future.”

Worth noting is that the conference is organized by Akhbar Al Youm and Cairo University, in cooperation with the Ministries of Education and the Higher Education.
