The German logistics group said on Thursday that Deutsche Post DHL will increase package prices next year due to rise in labor and transport costs.

for business customers with inpidually agreed conditions

Earlier this year, the German partially state-owned firm set higher rates on business customers, helping the company to achieve a full-year operating profit.

A spokesperson said that prices are set inpidually with such customers, who make at least 3,000 shipments a year.

In March, DHL announced that it would invest 150 million euros annually on infrastructure, staff, and automation to maintain pace with the rising volume of e-commerce.

In the meantime, DHL continues to push efficiency further through the robotization and implementation of new technologies.

Recent innovations include warehouse floor cleaner and quick pick system as part of the $300 million investment program.

“We have recorded a 15% efficiency growth after deploying Quick Pick, compared with typical radio frequency picking,” a spokesperson said.

Moreover, the company is using a cleaner that covers up to 450,000 sq ft in DHL facilities in just eight hours at a cost of $ 45,000 per unit.
