Lieutenant-General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, met with Cypriot Chief of the National Guard Lieutenant General Dimokritos Zervakis and his accompanying delegation, who are currently in an official visit to Egypt.
The meeting dealt with a number of issues of common interest in light of the current regional and international developments and their impact on security and stability in the Middle East in addition to ways to enhance cooperation and military relations between the armed forces of the two friendly countries.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces stressed his pride in the strategic partnership relations that link the Egyptian and Cypriot armed forces in various fields, especially defense and security ones, and pointed out to the importance of coordinating efforts and military cooperation between the armed forces of both countries.
Earlier, Lieutenant-General Mohamed Farid, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, received Cypriot Chief of the National Guard Lieutenant General Dimokritos Zervakis at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defense.

For his part, Cypriot Chief of the National Guard Lieutenant General Dimokritos Zervakis praised the strong friendship relations and joint coordination, stressing the Cypriot armed forces' aspiration to support new horizons in the field of military cooperation between Egypt and Cyprus.
