Corona virus is inevitably spreading around the world especially in China, posing a new threat to the global population.

This coincides with the celebration of the Chinese New Year, which falls on January 25. Millions of tourists will leave for Thailand and the country is on alert for further potential outbreaks.

According WHO, symptoms of the pneumonia are mainly fever, with a number of patients having difficulty breathing, and chest radio-graphs showing invasive lesions of both lungs.

The very rapid spread of the epidemic underscores a big challenge for health authorities seeking to contain the outbreak.

Thailand and Japan have already identified at least three cases, all involving recent travel from China.

South Korea reported its first case Monday, when a 35-year-old Chinese woman from Wuhan, a Chinese city, tested positive for the new Corona virus one day after arriving at Seoul’s Incheon airport.

Many Asian countries and three U.S. airports have already started screening incoming airline passengers from central China.

China reported 140 new cases of Corona virus in Wuhan in December 2019, with two suspected cases reported in capital Beijing and another in the tech hub city of Shenzhen.

It is noteworthy that three Chinese people have died so far because of the infectious virus experts have classed as a strain of corona virus.

Professor Whitworth said "So far, we’ve only seen countries within the region reporting cases but I think with international travel as it is these days, I think it’s inevitable we will see cases much more widely spread."

He added that the virus is more transmissible among persons than the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) SARS.

"Since January 3, Korean health authorities have strengthened surveillance for pneumonia cases in health facilities nationwide and screening for traveler from Wuhan. Public risk communication has also been enhanced."

A study published by London’s Imperial College has claimed that there could be more than 1,723 cases in just Wuhan.
