Date of 27th IHF Men’s World Championship Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony of the 27th IHF Men’s World Championship will kick off on Wednesday from 17:40 till 18:30 as the opening match between Egypt and Chile will start at 19:00 CLT at Cairo Stadium Sports Hall.

The tournament will be held in Egypt from 13 to 31 January 2021 in Egypt.

The opening ceremony will be held in the presence of Egypt's sports and youth minister Dr Ashraf Sobhi,  IHF President Dr Hassan Moustafa, and the chairman of the tournament's organising committee Hesham Nasr.

Egyptian superstar Tamer Hosny will perform at the opening ceremony, as he unveiled recently on Instagram the official song of the 27th IHF Men’s World Championship.

The song entitled “Erfah Edek” also features the performance of Marwan Moussa and Hoda Sherbeeny.

It is written by Menna Adli El Kiey, and composed by Ehab Abd Elwahed.

Furthermore, Hosny shared photos on the platform from the behind-the-scenes of the opening ceremony of the Men’s World Championship.

About Egypt 2021

The 27th edition of the IHF Men’s World Championship – the first IHF World Championship to be played with 32 teams – will take place in Egypt from 13 to 31 January 2021 at four venues: Cairo Stadium Sports Hall, New Capital Sports Hall, Dr Hassan Moustafa Sports Hall (formerly 6th of October) and Borg Al Arab Sports Hall. The IHF men’s flagship event will feature 108 games, with the final weekend taking place in Cairo.
