The Egyptian Dar Al Iftaa will observe the crescent moon of Shawal tonight to mark the beginning of the Eid Al Fitr and the end of Ramadan.

The event of the observation will take place after the Prayer of Al-Maghrib (the sunset) for 30 minutes, and the result of the observation will be announced on the Dar Al Iftaa's social media pages.

The National Research Institute of Astronomy & Geophysics (NRIAG) announced on Wednesday that the first day of Eid Al Fitr will be on May 2, and Eid prayer will be at 5:37 Cairo time.

According to astronomical studies, the rise of the Shawal Crescent moon will be at 10: 28 pm on the Day of Observation (Yawm Al Roayah) in Cairo time.

Furthermore, the crescent moon will be before the sunset of the observation day.

This Ramadan will be a 30-day-month; so Sunday, May 1 will be the final day of Ramadan, and Monday will mark the beginning of Shawal and Eid Al Fitr.
