The Great Pyramid of Giza and the Luxor Temple were among the 50 most beautiful buildings in the world, according to the Daily Mail report.

The report was based in its classification on the science and theory of the "golden ratio", where researchers plot the most common points found on a building, such as the top and bottom corners, the building's centre, and equidistant points around the circumference, before comparing the distance between these markers to those laid out by the ratio.

According to the report, the Great Pyramid (2560 BC) ranked 19th on the list of the 50 most beautiful buildings in the world, while the Luxor Temple (1400 BC) came on the 23rd spot.

"The "golden ratio" has long been used as a barometer of beauty and numerically is a ratio of 1:1.618. So a building that aligns with it would contain shapes and structures that have a relationship with each other in this ratio," Daily Mail wrote.

"For reasons that can't really be explained, humans find objects that unfold with this ratio of expansion inherently beautiful."

The report pointed out that the Great Pyramid is one of the wonders of the ancient world, which proved its "scientific beauty", and that it is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in the Giza pyramids area. It also made clear that it represents an amazing achievement of design ability and human strength.

It is worth noting that the list of the world's 50 most beautiful buildings included St Paul's Cathedral in England, followed by Marina Bay Sands resort in Singapore, Westminster Abbey in London, then Osaka Castle in Japan, and St Basil's Cathedral in Moscow, and others.
