Minister of Culture will inaugurate the 13 Edition of Cairo International Biennale under the slogan "Toward the East" on Monday 10 June. The event will take place in the Museum of Modern Egyptian Art and Art Complex in Zamalek; it will run until 10 August.

Plastic Arts Sector headed by Dr. Khaled Souror is organizing this Biennale.

Abdel-Dayem said that the revival of Cairo International Biennial is considered as a global outlet in Egypt and it presents several artistic schools.

It also represents a new victory for culture and arts in the country; it is a confirmation of the Egyptian leadership and a unique experience after having succeeded in imposing itself since the beginning of its first edition in1984.

The edition was prepared by the artist Farouk Hosni, former Minister of Culture and it became an effective program, gathering creators from different continents of the earth.

On his part, Dr. Souror said that the 13th Edition of Cairo International Biennale would witness the participation of 80 artists from 50 different countries, adding that a press conference will be held at 7 pm on Sunday 9 June in a seminar hall in the supreme council of culture, to announce the details of this edition.

Meanwhile, the prizes will be distributed in the small opera theater on Tuesday, 11 June at 7 pm; it will include Greater Nile Prize, in addition to five prizes for the biennial instead of three prizes in the previous edition.

It is worthy of note that the Minister of Culture issued a decision last October that Cairo Biennale should be revived after 8 years of suspension. Accordingly, a committee was set up to prepare for the thirteenth Edition. The committee included the following names: Dr. Sorour, the artist Ihab El-Laban, Dr. Jamal Hameed, Dr. Khaled Hafez, Dr. Nagy Farid, Dr. Hazem Taha Hussein, Dr. Yasser Mounji, Dalia Mustafa, Head of the Central Administration of Arts Centers, Ahmed Abdel Fattah, head of the Central Administration of Artistic Services for Museums and Exhibitions.
