Culture Min. Launches Charity to Support ‘Tahya Misr’ in Overcoming Covid-19

Ministry of Culture has launched "Art for Charity" Initiative to support "Tahya Misr" Fund in combating Coronavirus challenges.

The initiative, under the auspices of Dr. Inas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, is in collaboration with Plastic Arts Sector headed by Dr. Khaled Soror.

The initiative states that more than 100 artists donate the value of their artistic works for the charity works of the government hospitals to contribute in overcoming the implications of coronous virus.

"Abdel Dayem said: "Art for Charity" initiative is one of the examples of the Egyptian solidarity in the face of the challenges of Corona virus.

Abdel Dayem added that the constructive cooperative efforts of all inpiduals, institutions and official organizations reflected the true image of Egypt.

“The Ministry of Culture continues to play its role in supporting the ideas and targets of the initiative to achieve the public good.”

The minister also thanked all the initiative participants for their sense of responsibility.

It is worthy of note that this initiative was the idea from a film director Waheed Muhammer – who published it on his Facebook page.

Later, the initiative was adopted by the Ministry of Culture.

The minister urged the Plastic Arts Sector to provide mechanisms for implementing this initiative.

This step was welcomed by large number of artists from different generations and they announced their acceptance to donate the total value of their works for the goals of this initiative, establishing a page on the Facebook to display their works and to answer any questions.
