Culture Min. Launches 8th Aswan International Festival for Arts

On the River Nile in Aswan Governorate, Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture and Dr. Ahmed Awwad, Head of the General Organization of Culture Palaces, launched the activities of the eighth Edition of Aswan International Festival for Culture and Arts.

The ceremonies were attended by Dr. Heba Youssef, head of the Foreign Cultural Relations Sector and a number of executive leaders in Aswan Governorate.

22 folkloric troupes from 14 countries, including 9 Egyptian Troupes participate in this huge artistic and folkloric carnival, including more than 400 artists, 160 foreigners and 240 Egyptians, they gathered to present art shows on Nile boats raising the flags of their countries.

This evening, before the opening ceremony, all the troupes will participate in a popular carnival in “The Touristic Market “District - in Fawzi Fawzi Theater.

Abdel Dayem said that Aswan International Festival For Culture And Arts puts Egypt in the heart of the world and stresses the importance of arts - as a soft power- in creating cultural interaction between nations of different heritage on the land of Aswan- The Gem of Nile.

She also indicated that its eighth Edition draws a scene that confirms the rank of the Egyptian oldest human civilization with exchanging different colors of heritage, reflecting the values and principles of freedom, brotherhood and tolerance, to promote the creativity of human conscience.

It is noteworthy that the activities of the eighth Edition of Aswan International Festival for Culture And Arts are held in a number of different cultural sites in the city of Aswan, as well as the celebration of “The sun perpendicular on the face of Ramses II “ in the Holy of the Holiest in Abu Simbel Temple.
