Culture Min. Laments Haitham Zaki, Inaugurates “Cinema Palace Museum”

Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, said that cinema represent the memory of the nation with its past and present and it also draws new horizons for the future.

She added that with the departure of one of the creators, a leaf falls from the tree of creativity of the homeland, pointing to her feeling of sadness for the departure of the young artist who was influential in the cinematic art career - Haitham Ahmed Zaki.

This speech was delivered in a ceremony to mark the lamentations of Zaki, held by the General Organization of Culture Palaces, headed by Dr. Ahmed Awwad in the cinema palace.

The ceremony, led by artist Tamer Abdel Moneim, confirmed the keenness of the Minister of Culture to participate in the lamentation of the late Zaki.

He pointed out that the artistic scene has lost a lot of stars and filmmakers who lived as orphans and died alone. The ceremonies included screening the first film of the late- “The Baliatcho”.

The Minister of Culture also inaugurated “the Memory of the Cinema Palace” that includes a collection of film posters, cinema projectors and sound equipment narrating the journey of the cinema art in Egypt.
