Dr. Inas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture and Major General Khaled Fouda, Governor of South Sinai, inaugurated the lounge building of the late President Mohamed Anwar Sadat in Wadi Al-Raha area in St. Catherine.

This came after its restoration and development by the plastic arts sector- headed by Dr. Khaled Sorour- in cooperation with South Sinai governorate.

The lounge includes some of the late president's belongings.

The inauguration was held within the activities of the St. Catherine forum for “Religions Tolerance - Let Us Pray Here Together”, which is held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

The ceremony was attended by Ministers of Culture, Endowments, Tourism, Antiquities, Immigration, Supply, Sports and Local Development.

Abdel Dayem said that the lounge of the late leader would be as a museum and touristic site in the city; it would document an important era in the life of the late president.

She stressed Egypt's keenness to perpetuate the glorious historical symbols of Egypt in order to be a reference and guide for the new generations.

It is worthy to note that the culture ministry has loaned a painting and a bronze statue of president Sadat, adding them to the contents of the lounge including Al-Sadat's bedroom, his personal Quran, his personal newspaper, his pipe, and many others.

On his part, South Sinai governor praised the ministry's efforts in developing, restoring and displaying the content of the museum.

He pointed out that ”St. Catherine forum for religious tolerance“ confirms that Egypt is a country of peace, tolerance, non-violence, and love.
