Culture Min. Names Karma Mohamed Sami as Head of NCT

Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, issued a decision to appoint Dr. Karma Muhamed Sami, as The Head of the National Center for Translation (NCT) for one year.

Dr. Sami will succeed Dr. Ola Adel, who apologized for this position after her nomination by the Ministry of Higher Education to work as a cultural attaché in the educational mission office in Austria .

Dr. Abdel Dayem congratulated Dr. Adel for the new position wishing her success.

It is noteworthy that Dr. Sami graduated from Al-Alsun College in May 1987 with with honor grade. She was chosen for “Fulbright Scholarship” in 1989 and she got a “Master’s degree with excellent grade”. Then, she obtained the PHD with first class honor degree; her thesis was entitled “The original Female Models In Arnold's plays”.

She held previously the following position:

-The Head of English language Department at Al-Alsun College (2006-2009).

- The Vice-Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research at Al-Alsun College (2008-2015).

-Professor of English Literature in the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University.

-A member of the Board of Director of “Rifaa Unit for Research and Linguistic Information Development and Translation”.

-The Head of English Language Department at Al-Alsun College (2007 – 2012).

-Member of the Scientific Committee of “ the Cultural Policy Conference for Translation” – 2015- in cooperation with Manchester University and many other important position in the field of translation .

In addition, she won “ Human Sciences Award” from Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation for Young Arab Researchers in 2000 – Jordan. She has numerous research papers and conference books published in books and journals.
