Culture Min., Assiut Gov. Inspect “Artisans of Egypt” Products

Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture and Major General Essam Saad, Governor of Assiut, today inspected the exhibition of the work of the participants of “The Artisans of Egypt “ Initiative, which was launched under the direction of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

This initiative aims to train and qualify talented people in traditional crafts through specialized programs implemented by the Ministry of Culture in various governorates.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed Awad, head of the General organization of Culture Palaces. They also visited an exhibition of the publications of the organization.

Abdel Dayem praised the high standard level of the products, saying that “The Artisans of Egypt “ Initiative has succeeded in creating a new generation of creators in the field of traditional crafts, which is one of the symbols of the Egyptian identity.

In addition, she affirmed her support to all the coming stages of the initiative to revive and develop traditional crafts- which comes in line with the country's strategy to open new fields of work to promote economic projects to raise the national income and to achieve the sustainable development axes.

On his part, Awad explained that the initiative aims to teach the industry of “the environmental and Manuel crafts” in all governorates of the Republic.

Awad added that we are now enjoying the product of 13 governorates displayed in the first exhibition in Assuit Culture Palace.

t is worthy of note that the exhibition included the artistic products of the trainees from the governorates of New Valley, Giza, Port Said, Red Sea, Assiut, Sohag, Alexandria, Gharbia, South Sinai, Aswan, Damietta.
