Crisis Talks and a decisive meeting is underway at royal family between Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, and Dukes of Cambridge and Sussex; William and Harry post the bombshell announcement made by Harry, wife to quit royalty.

British 'Mirror' reported that the Queen fears the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, may air her grievances on royal life in a no-holds-barred' interview.

A Palace source said it was a “nuclear” option if Harry and Meghan are still unhappy after crisis talks today at Sandringham. Courtiers are terrified Meghan and Harry will give an interview as damaging to the royal household as the one given by the prince’s mum Princess Diana in 1995, when the late Princess told Martin Bashir that she suffered the eating disorder bulimia and self-harmed while part of “The Firm”, during her marriage to unfaithful Prince Charles.

Earlier, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced on Wednesday they wanted to quit as "senior royals" and become financially independent, splitting their time between the UK and North America.

The monarch is said to have summoned her grandson for the urgent meeting to discuss his future. Meghan will dial in from Canada to the Queen's crisis summit to discuss her and husband Prince Harry's futures.

Mean while, reports said that Prince Harry feared Meghan would suffer a "meltdown" if they stayed in the UK for good.

It was reported that he and his wife could be days from starting their new life in Canada - having already flown their dogs over. Meghan's pet beagle Guy and a black Labrador the couple own are reported to be in Vancouver Island. And it is thought Harry could join Meghan - who returned to Canada this week - in the next few days.

The two dogs traveled out to Canada with Harry and Meghan in November for their six-week break, the Daily Mail reported.

On his part, Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip is said to have barked "what the hell are they playing at?" after learning about Harry and Meghan's plan to quit royal life.

Prince Philip, 98, is reported to have reacted with fury and accused his grandson of disrespecting the monarch. Prince Philip, who retired from public life in 2017, now spends much of his time in a farmhouse on the edge of the Norfolk estate, but is believed to have returned to the main house to comfort the "disappointed wife" Queen in the wake of the crisis.

A source told The Sun on Sunday that Philip asked “what the hell are they playing at?” after being told about Harry and Meghan's announcement.

The source added: "To say that the Duke feels let down would be a considerable understatement. He is deeply hurt. “But he was spitting blood when aides informed him what had happened.

Philip has accused Harry and Meghan of lacking respect and he is weary of their behaviour."

On another hand, the Queen looked stern-faced as she was spotted in public for the first time since Harry's announcement.

She went for a drive in Sandringham amid the drama surround her grandson and his wife. The Monarch, which is said  to be "deeply upset", was wearing a headscarf as she got behind the wheel to drive away from the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk in her Land Rover.

Ahead of today’s emergency talks at Sandringham, William told friends how sorrowful he was over the situation.

He said to a pal: “I’ve put my arm around my brother all our lives and I can’t do that any more. We’re separate entities.”

A source said their rift stems from William warning Harry not rush into marriage early in his relationship with Meghan.
