The second wave of the novel coronavirus, causing the COVID-19 disease, is coming so fast and more serious than the first in most of the world's countries. In this report, we shall present the most recent developments on Friday in various countries in different continents.

Coronavirus in Oman

The Sultanate of Oman announced a curfew and the closure of public places at night across the country, starting from next Sunday for a period of two weeks, as part of new measures to confront the epidemic.

The Omani News Agency said that the Supreme Committee in charge of examining the mechanism for dealing with developments resulting from the spread of the coronavirus, decided to ban movement and close all public places and shops from 8:00 pm until 5:00 am, from next Sunday to October 24 .

It also decided to ban the use of the beaches throughout the day until further notice and to re-block some activities that had previously reopened and did not comply with the requirements.

The committee said that the relevant authorities will take all legal measures against the violators.

Morocco's 17th Emergency Announcement

Earlier, the Moroccan government extended the state of health emergency for an additional month until November 10, marking the seventh extension since this exceptional measure was imposed on March 20, with the aim of countering the spread of the pandemic.

"The council approved the extension of the state of health emergency across the country, until November 10, in order to ensure the continued effectiveness and efficacy of the measures and measures taken to combat the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic," a communique issued by the Prime Minister said at the end of the weekly cabinet meeting.

Europe in Trouble

The Spanish government has ordered a 15-day state of emergency to bring down Covid-19 infection rates in the capital, after a court overturned a partial lockdown imposed a week ago, the BBC reported on Friday.

Madrid and nine nearby cities will see restrictions on movement.

In England, Coronavirus is "getting out of control" in the north, a minister has said, as she defended government plans to bring in new restrictions.

Gillian Keegan said the country was in an "unbelievably serious situation", but added that communication with areas facing new rules needed to be clearer.

Stranded Migrants

The United Nations said on Friday that more than 2,700,000 migrants wanting to return to their homes are stranded abroad due to the Covid-19 epidemic, calling for international action to address this crisis.

In this context, the International Organization for Migration considered that the world must act quickly to allow these people to return safely to their homes, despite the restrictions imposed due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.

In a report, the organization warned that border closures and travel bans have left a large number of migrants stranded, identifying stranded migrants as people who live outside their country of origin and want to return to their homes, but have been deprived of this due to the measures associated with the epidemic.
