The Director-General of the Lebanese Public Security, Major General Abbas Ibrahim, returned home from the United States today, Friday, after testing positive for Coronavirus, LBC Lebanese channel reported.

Ibrahim was in Washington to hold talks with U.S. officials but his infection with the pandemic forced him to cancel scheduled meetings in Paris.

Ibrahim will resume his work after completing the quarantine period, according to Reuters.

He met with U.S. National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien at the White House last week to discuss the issue of US citizens detained in Syria, the Wall Street Journal reported.
