COVID-19: Global Confirmed Cases Surpass 33 Million

Coronavirus (COVID-19) has now infected a total of 33,78000 million people worldwide, according to the US's Johns Hopkins University.

The virus has killed over one million people around the world.

The United States has the highest number of COVID-19 infections, followed by India, Brazil, and Russia, Colombia, Beru, Mexico, South Africa.

Global new daily case numbers reached record levels in recent days as the international race to develop and market a vaccine heated up, according to Reuters.

The official number of global coronavirus cases is now more than five times the number of severe influenza illnesses recorded annually, according to World Health Organization data.
