COVID-19: Egypt’s Cases Tally Surpasses 400K

On Sunday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 1197 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 400076.

The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 22,148 nationwide after the ministry announced 25 deaths.

About 998 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 333,529.

It is worth mentioning that, Acting Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar said on Sunday that symptoms of seasonal Flu, and COVID-19 new variant ‘Omicron’ are highly similar.

In a press conference, he added that studies have proven that Coronavirus vaccination reduces the severity of infection.
