COVID-19: Egypt to Receive 3.9 Mln Doses of AstraZeneca Vaccine Soon

Acting Health Minister Khaled Abdul Ghaffar said that Egypt received on Saturday, 600,000 doses of "Johnson & Johnson" and "AstraZeneca" COVID-19 vaccines.

 

In a statement, Abdul Ghaffar added that the country will receive 3,900,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine by the end of this month.

 

The minister also noted that all types of vaccines are available at vaccination centers across the country, in addition to the manufacture of vaccines locally at the factories of the Holding Company For Biological Products and Vaccines (VACSERA).

 

On Saturday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 892 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 362,260.

 

The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 20,682 nationwide after the ministry announced 39 deaths.

About 1003 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 300,437.
