NEA Coordinates with Health Min. to Fight Coronavirus Suspected Cases

As the first stage of the parliamentary elections is kicking off in Egypt, counselor Lashin Ibrahim, head of the National Elections Authority (NEA) has revealed that the authority has coordinated with the Ministry of Health to provide ambulances to be ready for any suspected case of Coronavirus inside the polling stations.

In a statement to TV anchor Ahmed Moussa, Ibrahim added that the authority formed an operations room to receive any complaints and inquiries from voters and set a hotline to receive any complaints about the elections process.

Noteworthy, the first stage of the parliamentary election is kicking off today, Saturday, in Egyptian governorates.

The National Elections Authority (NEA) coordinates with the concerned government agencies to secure the election process.

Police forces are deployed in the streets, while the Interior Ministry raised the level of preparedness to secure the election process.

Earlier, the NEA announced that the first stage of the elections will kick off for Egyptians abroad from October 21 to 23 while it will kick off in Egypt on October 24 and 25.

The re-runs of the first stage will be held for Egyptians abroad from November 21 to 23 and in Egypt on November 24 and 25.

Egyptian expats voted on Wednesday, in the first stage of the parliamentary election over three days, according to the schedule set by the NEA.

The National Elections Authority decided to allow voting through “express mail” due to the spread of COVID-19.
