Russia continued to make records in the daily infection rate due to the novel coronavirus, as the authorities announced yesterday that they had reported 11,012 new cases.

The latest figure is bringing the total infection in the country to about 210,000 people. Mean while, the death toll rose to 1915.

Russia has become the fifth highest country in the number of injuries in the world.

In Brazil, the hardest-hit in Latin America, the authorities reported more than ten thousand deaths and one hundred and fifty thousand cases of the virus, while the country of 210 million people is expected to become the new epicenter of the pandemic that killed at least 276 thousand people around the world .

Yesterday evening, Brazil announced that 730 additional fatalities were reported within 24 hours, a figure close to the previous day's toll at 751. In addition, 10,701 confirmed cases of infection were counted in a day.

The coronavirus drama almost sweeps around the globe, as in Mexico hospitals declined to receive new patients in the capital, Mexico City, after both public and private hospitals were pushed to their limits.

The authorities have reported nearly 32,000 injuries and nearly 3,200 deaths so far.

In China, the origin of the pandemic, data of the National Health Commission yesterday showed that 14 new confirmed cases of the virus were recorded yesterday, the highest number since April 28; it included the first case in more than a month in Wuhan, where the disease first appeared late last year.

The committee also said that 20 new cases were reported without symptoms, the highest number since May 1, and more than 15 cases reported the day before.

Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia each recorded more cases and deaths from the virus.

In South Korea, the capital municipality ordered Seoul to close all nightclubs and bars for fear that some newly discovered cases might lead the city into a new wave of virus outbreak.

The country, once a hard-hit place, has so far impressed the whole world by succeeding to contain the spread of the virus via a focused strategy of "follow-up, examination and treatment".

Easing Lockdown over Coronavirus

In Australia, Gladys Berejiklian, Premier of Minister of New South Wales, said that the largest state in the country in which Sydney is located will allow cafes, restaurants, stadiums and uncovered swimming pools to resume activity next Friday after extensive testing showed that the spread of the Coronavirus has slowed dramatically.

The state registered only two new cases on Thursday, out of about 10,000 people who were tested.
