The Colombian government announced that Defense Minister Carlos Holmes Trujillo has entered intensive care after being infected with coronavirus.
The president's office said: "The Minister of Defense is still in hospital and in intensive care," noting: "the minister suffers from Coronavirus infection and viral pneumonia."
The minister tested positive for the virus last Tuesday, a day after it was announced that Foreign Minister Claudia Blume had tested positive for the Coronavirus.
Other notable people infected with coronavirus include First Lady Maria Juliana Ruiz, who tested positive in November, and Vice President Marta Lucia Ramirez, who tested positive in October.
