Reuters latest statistics showed that more than 97.04 million people were infected with the coronavirus worldwide, including 20 83965 deaths.

The COVID-19 cases have been recorded in more than 210 countries and regions since the outbreak in December 2019.

Noteworthy, the White House coronavirus task force has warned local authorities of a new strain of the virus that was identified in the United States, amid concerns that the mutation of the virus will impede the work of new vaccines and President-elect Joe Biden’s plans to combat the pandemic.

The White House COVID-19 task force said in its report that “The recent increase in deaths of COVID-19 dramatically exceeded four thousand cases daily,” indicating that there is a US variant that has developed inside the country.
