Coronavirus cases worldwide exceed 140.7 mln

Johns Hopkins University announced on Sunday that more than 140.7 million people were infected with Coronavirus worldwide, including more than 3 million and 11 thousand deaths.

The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population announced that the number of new coronavirus cases has increased significantly in the past few days, as people rushed to markets to buy commodities ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, in addition to the lack of commitment to precautionary and preventive measures to confront the virus.

The COVID-19 cases have been recorded in more than 210 states.

Earlier, the White House coronavirus task force has warned local authorities of a new strain of the virus that was identified in the United States, amid concerns that the mutation of the virus will impede the work of new vaccines and President Joe Biden’s plans to combat the pandemic
