Climate Tracker Institution Honors "SEE" In New York Fellowship

The Climate Tracker institution honored Wafaa Fayez, a scientific editor at "SEE" news website in the New York fellowship. The editor was among the top 15 best writers applying for this fellowship to attend the UN Youth Climate Summit, UNSG’s Climate Action Summit, and other events in New York City in September.

Wafaa wrote an important article in the "SEE" website entitled" Young leaders unite to save earth from climate change". It discussed the climate change issue and its negative effects, as well as how Egypt is dealing with this problem? She listed in her article many solutions and innovations produced by experts.

She received a message from the Climate Tracker organization that included the following words:

"Thanks Wafaa so much for participating in our writing competition to be considered for a fellowship to attend the UN Youth Climate Summit, UNSG’s Climate Action Summit, and other events in New York City in September. We are writing to tell you that you were among the top 15 best writers applying for this fellowship. We really liked your writing style, the angle you used for your story, and your passion for climate issues."

"We want to consider you as a “runner-up. You should be very proud to be among the final 15. To recognize this accomplishment, we would like to feature you as one of the best writers from the competition. If you agree, we would share your article with your picture on our social media and explain that you were one of the top candidates."

Additionally, the organization finally announced  the winners of the competition, and there is an Egyptian Journalist among them:

Biography 

Wafaa Fayez is a scientific editor and reporter in Egypt. In 2010, She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University with an honors grade (91.6%). After that, she finished the preliminary studies for the Master’s degree under the Journalism program at Cairo University in 2014. She has substantial experience in the media industry working as a journalist since 2011.

Her work responsibilities are to research and write stories about national and international news. She is specialized in the field of scientific research in Egypt and Arab countries. She also works extensively with many issues: human rights, climate change, and sustainable development, interviewing ministers, scientists, and members of various organizations to investigate stories and launch media campaigns.

Her creative and ambitious character encouraged her to obtain opportunities to work in Europe. In 2017, she participated in a one-week tour at the most important media and political institutions in Vienna, Austria, and traveled to Germany twice to participate in an international educational and scientific conference.
