President of China Xi Jinping said on Saturday that his country appreciates Lebanon's positive contribution to strengthening cooperation between Arab countries and China, stressing his country's interest in developing cooperation with Lebanon in the economic and social fields.
This came during his meeting with head of the Lebanese caretaker government Najib Mikati at his residence in Riyadh on the sidelines of the Arab-Chinese summit hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Chinese President added that his country continues to support Lebanon, especially during this period in the field of renewable energy.
On his part, Mikati affirmed that Lebanon is looking forward to more Chinese investments, especially in the field of infrastructure, in which China has extensive experience.
Mikati thanked China for its effective contribution over the years to protecting stability in southern Lebanon through its active participation in the United Nations Interim Force in Southern Lebanon (UNIFIL).
He expressed his wishes to open the Chinese markets for Lebanese handicraft products, thanking China for granting him funding to build the National Conservatory
