A child was killed and two Taliban members were injured in a powerful blast that occurred in Kabul, Afghanistan, the authorities confirmed on Sunday.

In a statement, a spokesman of the Kabul security department said: "A roadside mine targeted an Islamic Emirate military vehicle on Sunday in Kabul’s Bagrami district, and a child was killed and four Islamic Emirate force members were wounded, said General Mobin."

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for this powerful blast.

In 2021, a suicide bombing by ISIS in Afghanistan took place at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, on 26 August 2021, during the evacuation from Afghanistan.

In the same year, an opposition group loyal to local leader Ahmad Massoud called themselves the National Resistance Forces claimed responsibility for a number of bombings as well as killing eight Taliban fighters and storming Kabul.
