Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin rematch set for September 15th

Lots of drama has preceded the finalization of this rematch, but it's finally back on track Kazakh Thunder Gennady Golovkin and The Mexican Superman Canelo Alvarez will finally have their rematch on September 15th in what sure could be the most anticipated boxing event of the year.

These middleweight giants faced each other last September in a technical match that ended in a controversial draw. Boxing spectators saw Golovkin easily wining the match as he was the on the offense for the entirety of the 12 rounds, while Canelo was of the defense most of the time and was the counter puncher. The controversial result urged both promotions to schedule the rematch as fast as possible to please the irate fans so the match was scheduled to take place on the 15th of May, but it was canceled due to Canelo failing a drug test after traces of the steroid clenbutrol was fount in his system.

From then on both boxers took jabs at each other, Gennady publicly stating that Canelo is disrespecting the sport, while Canelo insisted that he was innocent. Their first match generated over a 100 million dollars, and the expected revenue of their second match is stated to surpass the first.
