The Canadian Institute for Humane Islam stressed the need to remember the terrorist massacre that took place in a mosque in Quebec City, an autonomous French-spoken province in Canada, four years ago, in which 6 people were killed and 19 innocent Muslims were wounded.

At the same time, the Institute demands that the Muslim community in Canada remembers the terrorist acts that killed Canadian soldiers, so it is the duty of all of us to confront all kinds of terrorism committed by Muslims and non-Muslims and confront all kinds of hatred and discrimination against all Canadians.

On the fourth anniversary of the massacre, the Institute rejects the political exploitation of the blood of innocent Muslims to obtain political gains that pide Canadian society and give privileges to one group over another, in a way that harms the relationship between Muslims and all others in Canada.

When the criminal terrorist attack on the Canadian Parliament was carried out and could have led to the deaths of dozens of Canadians, no one spoke about this “phobia” among Muslims, because of the crimes committed by Muslim terrorists in Canada and throughout the world.

On the contrary, however, the response of the Canadian state and Canadian society was wonderful; it preserved the unity of Canadians and refused to link all Muslims to these crimes.

The Canadian Institute regrets that the voices of many Islamic organizations only speak about Muslim victims, and never remember the victims of  Islamic terrorism.

The Institute also fears that this is a type of racism and discrimination between Muslim Canadians and non-Muslim Canadians. Therefore, instead of calling for a national day against “Islamophobia”, it is better for it to be a day to remember the victims of terrorism, Muslims and non-Muslims, a day for all Canadians.

The Institute also calls on these organizations to stop speaking in the name of Islam and Muslims, as they are unelected organizations and highly recommends that they make more effort to confront the religious and historical foundations of what  Muslim terrorists believe.
