Cairo is hosting the PA-UfM Forum and Summit of Speakers: Promotion of Economic Cooperation between the Two Shores of the Mediterranean – Revitalising the Barcelona Process on its 30th Anniversary from 28 to 30 November 2025. Egypt, serving as the current President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean (PA-UfM), is generously welcoming parliamentary leaders and distinguished representatives from across the Mediterranean region for this landmark gathering.

The event is organised jointly by the PA-UfM and the Egyptian House of Representatives, bringing together key stakeholders to advance dialogue and cooperation at a crucial moment for the Mediterranean. Discussions focus on strengthening economic partnerships, supporting sustainable development, empowering young people, and promoting democratic governance across the region. Delegates also emphasise the vital role of parliamentary diplomacy, legislative transparency, and coordinated regional action in addressing shared challenges such as climate change, migration, and widening socioeconomic disparities.

Throughout the meetings, participants underscore the need to revitalise the Barcelona Process three decades after its launch, reinforcing its principles of partnership, stability, and shared growth. The Forum and Summit conclude with a unified commitment to enhancing economic cooperation and fostering resilient, inclusive development across both shores of the Mediterranean.

This high-level event reaffirms Cairo’s central role as a hub for constructive political dialogue and regional partnership, reflecting Egypt’s ongoing efforts to support prosperity, stability, and cooperation throughout the Mediterranean Basin.
