The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have announced on Friday that the hosting city for the Super Cup will be held in Cairo, Egypt after it was initially scheduled to take place in Doha, Qatar.

The Egyptian Football Association president Amr El-Ganainy had previously revealed that the Super Cup will be played in Egypt.

CAF are currently deciding on a date for the Super Cup, ahead of the final of the Champions League between Al Ahly and Zamalek on November 27.

“Based on the joint coordination between CAF, and the Qatar Football Association (QFA) regarding the agenda of sporting events, it was decided that Qatar will not host the 2020 CAF Super Cup which was initially slotted to be held between 14-16, August 2020,” the federation's statement read.

“The CAF Super Cup organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), traditionally pits the winner of the CAF Champions League against that of the CAF Confederation Cup in a one-off clash. This year’s edition will be held in Cairo, Egypt,”

One of the Cairo giants are set to face each other on November 27th and the winner will face Morocco’s RS Berkane who beat Pyramids in the CAF Confederation Cup final.
